What we think is cool
That dude Paul who lived in his beat-to-shit Kia Soul for a summer. That couple who spent 3 weeks camping in their Prius, checking off boxes on their National Parks list. A single mom taking her kids camping for a single night is so cool we don't even have words for it. Although we have the word "overland" on our website and hats and t-shirts, we can't ignore the fact that a custom Defender in New Zealand has more in common with a single mother's Honda Element than not. They are both literal and figurative vehicles to get out and enjoy places without walls.
What we also think is incredible!
4x4 vans are cool. Old Jeeps are cool. Rooftop tents and old pickups and BLM Land and hiking boots are cool. Big squishy tires and State Parks are way cool. We all love pretty pictures of Jeep Rubicons and isolated campsites. We also want to recognize that for some people, getting out of town for a single night is harder than another's trip down the Baja Peninsula.

Curt
FOUNDER AND DUDE IN CHARGE
Curt grew up in Wyoming, and landed in Long Beach, California, by way of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas. He founded GTFOverland in his garage in 2017, and has executed his growth plan with the help of his friends - Imposter syndrome and Self-doubt. He drives a 1988 Toyota Pickup, with the venerably underpowered 22RE 4-cyl. and a bunch of custom goodies he's installed over the years as this truck played guinea pig to GTFO.
Chris
DUDE #2 IN CHARGE OF MARKETING AND SEMI-PASSABLE PHOTOGAPHY
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Chris calls Long Beach, California, home after taking a phone call from an old friend who wanted to open an overland outfitter and eat unhealthy take out for lunch every day. He uses that emoji of the wad of money with wings a lot, thanks to his 1997 Land Rover Discovery 1. If you want to complain about Chris' photo composition, hit him up at [email protected].
Scotty
AMATEUR TINKERER, PROFESSIONAL PILOT, (NOT SO) SECRET PIRATE
Scotty grew up outside Greensboro, North Carolina, and is the only one here with a real job. As a commercial airline pilot, he has lived all over the country, but settled in Long Beach, California. Somehow buying one of everything we sell turned into a part-time job here, and now his 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK is so loaded with accessories that you can hear it beg for mercy every time he puts it in gear.
One last thing...
The point is, it's not our place to judge. None of us were born in a Land Cruiser.* We all had to start somewhere, and for some people that means getting time off work approved by a manager.
